Leeds Road Pasture Pond Hedgerow removal
The Pasture Pond hedge has long been a thorn in the side of the Parish Council who did not want it planting in the first place, after many complaints and petitions from local residents about it being overgrown with little maintenance and full of rubbish and vermin we worked hard with members of the Environment Agency to remove this hedge problem.
The main objection to its removal was the loss of wildlife habitat, but as we explained this area is full of wildlife habitat, after several years of negotiations it was agreed to remove the hedge and plant new trees to the area nearer the river.
Residents want the site opened back up so that the views ocross the Pasture Pond are put back to how it used to be with views of all the wildlife availiable for all to see.
